--Offensive tackle Jon Jansen, the longest-tenured Redskin, hopes his 10th season in Washington wasn't his last.
"I'll sit down with my wife and my agent and (Redskins owner Dan) Snyder and coach (Jim) Zorn and see what their intentions are," said Jansen, who'll be 33 in January and returned for Sunday's season-finale after missing two games with a sprained left knee. "I'm not a spring chicken, but I still have some good years left. I love playing in Washington and would like to continue to do so."
--Marcus Washington could've been singing "They're Breaking Up That Old Gang of Mine" as he left Redskin Park on Monday. The 2004 Pro Bowl linebacker doesn't know if he or fellow 2004 free agent pickups Shawn Springs, Cornelius Griffin and Phillip Daniels have played their final game for the Redskins.
"I try not to think about it, but it's the business side of it," said Washington, 31, who missed Weeks 12-15 with a high ankle sprain before returning for the final two games. "We've had a really good group, a group that will be remembered for a while around here."
The Redskins have had a top 10 defense in four of their five seasons.
--Coach Jim Zorn said he expects his entire staff to return in 2009 including offensive line coach Joe Bugel (69 in March), tight ends coach Rennie Simmons (67 in February) and defensive coordinator Greg Blache (60 in March).
