--Three defensive regulars returned against the Rams, and all survived their first game back from injury without doing further damage.
SLB Marcus Washington had eight tackles and forced Steven Jackson's fumble that set up Clinton Portis' touchdown, which opened the scoring.
"I just gave it a chance to rest, and I think that's all it needed," Washington said of the hamstring injury that had made him inactive in two of the previous four games. "A hamstring's one of those things you can't fight through it, you just gotta let nature take its course and when it's ready to go, it's ready to go."
CB Shawn Springs didn't start, but he played extensively, making three tackles and sacking Marc Bulger to end one Rams possession.
"I'm used to making plays," Springs said when asked about his sack, his first since 2004 when he became the first cornerback to lead a team in that category with six.
DE Jason Taylor played mostly in passing situations in his return from emergency calf surgery on Sept. 22.
"My calf feels OK, but ... I played (lousy)," said Taylor, who was used mostly on passing downs.
--After making his lone field-goal attempt against the Rams, K Shaun Suisham has tied his personal best of eight in a row. Suisham has converted 12 of 15 this season and 37 of 44 (a franchise record 84.1 percent) since coming to Washington in December 2006.
