Favre was turnover prone yet again with two more picks in the Jets' horrendous loss to the Raiders in Oakland. And Michael Huff should've had a third pick in overtime. Favre's pick at the end of regulation didn't have a Jet target in the state of California. The Jets are 3-3, and Favre has been reckless with the football in losses to New England, San Diego and the lowly Raiders.

Rodgers, meanwhile, is wowing everyone in Green Bay with his toughness and excellent play. He was sensational in back-to-back wins at Seattle and last Sunday at home in what turned out to be a laugher against the Colts. Rodgers has been brilliant delivering the football to a bevy of targets while protecting the pigskin. In talking to Rodgers last week, he agreed that the win in Seattle was his best performance of the season.

Rodgers told me that his "take a deep breath" moment wasn't the win against the Vikings in Week 1. It was in the nationally televised preseason game against the Bengals when he played well and the fans gave him a standing ovation. Rodgers said it became the team he was responsible for piloting.

And then there is Jay Glazer's FOXSports.com exclusive that said Favre called Lions coaches before the Week 2 matchup to give them exactly what Green Bay runs. That's bush-league. There are players in that Green Bay locker room that would've run through a brick wall for Favre.

Who do you want as your quarterback? Who do you trust? It's never been so easy.

2. Mike Nolan

I'm surprised the Niners fired Mike Nolan. Sure, this has not been Nolan's finest year with in-game coaching. Nolan did tell me last Friday that he did regret some challenges in the loss to the Eagles two weeks ago when the Niners blew a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter. But I am not sure it warrants a dismissal. The Niners need a new quarterback. Actually, they need two new quarterbacks. San Fran doesn't have a top-60 quarterback in the NFL. Make a list right now. And Mike Martz should be fired, not Nolan. Martz should've never been hired in the first place. It was a Nolan hire, and it did Nolan in.

How in the world do you not run Frank Gore in the first half of the Niners' latest loss this weekend to the Giants? Let's be honest, and we were at the time, Martz should've never been hired in the first place.

San Fran needs to draft a young quarterback and needs to add a veteran who can play (think Sage Rosenfels) for next season.

Now with all that said, I trust Niners general manager Scot McCloughan to truly have the pulse of what's going on in the Bay Area. McCloughan told me during the preseason he thought the team was going to surprise people. He liked the mix. The Niners have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL. Let's see what Mike Singletary can do to spark the club.

3. Lions

The Lions are going 0-16.

I don't want to hear about the positives about Dan Orlovsky or Calvin Johnson. This team is just wretched. I dare you. Try to find a win on the schedule. Maybe they'll beat the Vikings at home late in the year. I'm betting they won't.

4. Cowboys

Dallas is in serious trouble. And I blame Jerry Jones.

You can't let the team get distracted by Pacman Jones. That's on the owner for even messing around with a player who will always find trouble and doesn't get it.

And Jones should've immediately squashed the possibility that Tony Romo was playing on Sunday. Let me get this straight. The medical staff declares Romo out on a Monday. Then Brett Favre calls Romo and suddenly he can play? What is this, amateur hour?

You can see Wade Phillips losing his grip quickly. Dallas has the most talent in the NFL, but they play undisciplined, unfocused football. They better get it turned around fast. Games against Tampa and the Giants will be very difficult to win.

New Orleans played a home game in Week 6, a 34-3 pasting of the Raiders. The Saints won't play another game in New Orleans until a Monday night affair on Nov. 24. That's just flat-out wrong. The Saints are going to be chasing a division title and a wild card birth and will be the only team in the league that won't have eight home dates, with a "home game" in London against the Chargers this weekend. The league would rather make more money and expand the game globally than actually have an equal playing field. That's sad. It could come back and hurt the Saints greatly.

9. Tony Gonzalez

Tony Gonzalez made a huge mistake not wanting a trade to Buffalo. The Bills, proven once again with their double-digit win against San Diego, are legit and making the playoffs. If you wanted a trade and wanted to make the playoffs, you go to Buffalo, a great place to live with great fans and a well-coached football team.

Gonzalez exposed himself as a bit of a fraud by not wanting to be a Bill.

Now with that said, Carl Peterson made a huge mistake not trading the tight end to Green Bay for a third-round pick. This rebuilding mess needs to get younger. Blame all parties here, the player and the general manager. The Chiefs are a total disaster.
