LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - Washington Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell threw his first two interceptions of the season during a 23-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night.
Campbell went 271 passes dating to last season - 249 this season - without being picked off until Steelers cornerback Deshea Townsend grabbed a tipped ball late in the third quarter Monday.
On the play, Campbell's throw was knocked into the air by intended receiver Clinton Portis, and Townsend got it. Townsend then fumbled, and Pittsburgh recovered.
Washington challenged the ruling on the field of an interception, but the original call stood.
Campbell's second interception came in the final minute, when Tyrone Carter picked him off.
